Accessibility

Neighborhood

2 Pound Cottage is in the quiet village of Easton, set among fields and hedgerows in East Suffolk. It’s a peaceful, friendly place with everything you need for a relaxing stay within walking distance. Just up the lane is Easton Farm Park, a family-friendly working farm with animals, play areas, and walking trails — great for children and open year-round. There’s also a small village playground nearby. For food and drink, The White Horse pub is a short walk away. It’s a well-regarded, family-run spot serving local ales and seasonal menus, with indoor and outdoor seating. Public footpaths lead straight from the village into open countryside, perfect for gentle walks and spotting local wildlife. The village itself is quiet and safe, ideal for families or anyone looking to slow down and switch off.

Guest Access

You’ll have full, unrestricted access to the entire house and the front garden. The back garden is also yours to enjoy—just keep in mind that it isn’t fully fenced, so a little extra care is needed if you have children or dogs with you. The garden hut is available for practical use during your stay—it’s where you’ll find things like the tumble dryer, fans, and garden cushions. As the hut is also used for storage and cottage logistics, we kindly ask that guests stick to the front section and avoid the storage side. Let us know if you need help locating anything—we’re always happy to help!

Other Details to Note

You have one private parking space right here at the cottage. The lane is quite narrow, and the very end is private property belonging to our neighbours. They’re friendly, but they really appreciate it when cars don’t turn in their drive. If you can, please reverse out of our drive when you leave — it helps avoid using their space. Please take care not to block access along the lane and keep an eye out for residents coming and going. If you have more than one car or a larger vehicle, there’s free public parking on Framlingham Road, about 50 metres from the lane exit (turn left). Please note the staircase to the first floor is narrow and steep — do take care when using it. If you’d prefer to avoid stairs, the ground-floor single bedroom with ensuite offers a comfortable alternative. Dogs are very welcome here, but we ask they remain in the enclosed front garden. The back garden opens onto the road and borders our neighbour’s paddock, where horses can be easily frightened. The fencing is electrified for their safety, so no ball games are allowed in this area.

We have had a lovely long weekend at Claire's cottage. The decor was very much to our taste and it felt like a home for home, except for the beautiful countryside views which we don't have at our own house! We travelled with our two young daughters (2 and 4) and they were delighted by the sandpit outside and beautiful toys inside. Claire has really thought of everything for children so it was really very special to be somewhere so child-friendly yet still luxurious and relaxing for the adults. The beds were so comfortable and I loved the pillows - I always bring my own pillow but actually preferred the ones provided. We enjoyed the nearby farm park as well as a Sunday roast at the local pub. I wish we'd stayed for longer and hope to return soon!

My two kids, husband, dog and dad stayed at Claire’s cottage for a lovely weekend away from London, it was perfect. The village is so sweet and the cottage was perfect for our family. A lovely little garden in front for the kids and dogs to play and the outdoor area in back to sit and eat. The cottage itself is so lovely. Everything is decorated perfectly and very clean. The appliances were new and wonderful. As a mum of two, I slept so well in that bed and really appreciated that the cottage had toys and a sandbox outside so I was able to indulge in the nespresso machine while reading a book in bed! Claire was super responsive when I had small questions on how things worked and suggestions in the area. We found it a great get away spot to drive all around Suffolk throughout the weekend. Thank you for making our weekend in Suffolk so wonderful. The cottage was just like the photo. :) xo loved it!

We as a family really enjoyed our stay in this charming and very tranquil cottage. Our host Claire could not have been more helpful and friendly. We were attending a wedding at Easton grange just up the road and found the entire experience of staying here absolutely stress free and delightful. Thank you Claire 😊.

We spent a wonderful long weekend in this cottage. Both the area and cottage itself are truly delightful and charming. Claire could not have been a more perfect host and I could tell great care had gone into setting up the cottage for guests. We loved the area as well. Lovely beaches and farms close by, and an owl sanctuary that made out little one's weekend. All around highly recommended by me!

A car is recommended to make the most of your stay — the village has no public transport links, and the surrounding area is rich with places to discover by road. Framlingham and Wickham Market are both just a short drive away (around 10 minutes), with cafés, markets, and shops for daily essentials. The A12 is also within easy reach, linking you to Aldeburgh, Southwold, and other coastal towns in under 30–40 minutes. There’s free parking directly outside the cottage, and roads are quiet and scenic — perfect for slow countryside drives. For cyclists, the local lanes are safe and peaceful, winding through fields and hedgerows. If you're feeling adventurous, bring bikes to explore quiet Suffolk roads and tracks — there are plenty of gentle routes to choose from. Train stations are nearby at Wickham Market (Campsea Ashe) and Saxmundham, both connecting to London Liverpool Street via Ipswich. Taxis are available from Framlingham or Wickham Market, but pre-booking is advised as rural services can be limited. Once here, everything slows to walking pace — the playground, Easton Farm Park, and the surrounding footpaths are all reachable on foot. Bring wellies or walking shoes if you’re planning countryside rambles — Suffolk mud is famously sticky after rain!
